Rules
1. If you make an application and it is declined, you need to wait at least 1 week before making another application.
2. Admins are not required to state the reasons for declining an application. If you whine, bitch, moan, badger, cry, or demand an explanation, not only will you not get one, you will hurt your chances at having a future application accepted. That said, most of the time we will point something out for you to improve on. If we don't, it probably means you're just plain not ready to be an admin yet. If, even after reading all the hateful things written on this forum by admins, you still want your feelings hurt, get in touch with Foos over Skype, Steam, or in-game, and he may provide an additional explanation.
3. People can and will be granted admin powers without making applications. This is actually where MOST of our admins will come from. Don't complain about fairness if this happens.
Things to keep in mind:
If you really want, you can list experience as an admin in different games. However, we really don't care about experience in any games other than SS13, so list experience as an SS13 admin first.
If your application is not addressed immediately, please do not become impatient. If your application has been sitting for more than a week, contact me (Lead) or Foos via forum PM, over Skype, over Steam, or in-game.
Admins may respond to your application with questions/requests for more information or comments on their observations of you in the server, including reasons why they have chosen not to endorse your application. Admins may also elect to give you a full endorsement, meaning they would support your application for the position you requested, or recommend a trial round.
A trial round means that you will be granted either partial or full administrator powers for a period of at least one game round while senior administrators observe your handling of whatever issues arise during that round, also offering pointers and answering any questions you may have. Trial periods may be longer than one round if the observing admins decide that the round was too short or did not include enough issues to be a good observational period, or if either the admin candidate or the server is affected by technical difficulties. Candidates for Game Admin and Game Master will be assigned the rank of Trial Admin. Candidates for Moderator will just be made Moderators, and Admin Observers will not require trial rounds.
On the other end of the spectrum, episodes of large-scale severe griefing or server exploitation are not something we would expect a brand-new admin to be able to handle on their own, and if this happens during your trial you should expect the observing admins to step in and help, and possibly expect to have another trial period later under more normal circumstances.
Available Positions[/u]
Game Master: Full admin. A god among mortals, second in actual power over the server only to those with access to the server console.
Game Admin: Very close to the top of the list, but with fewer powers than Game Masters. Notably, Game Admins cannot control debug mode options, update the admin list, or engage in any of the shitty badmin mass-fuckery events available to Game Masters.
Badmin: prepare your anus, for the Carping is upon us
Moderator: Sometimes called "gay little moderator boys," Moderators are pretty far down the food chain and cannot issue bans. However, Moderators are usually able to contact a higher-ranking admin on short notice, so their role is still useful.
Admin Observer: Filthy traitors who ghost around the station watching for ERP, smilies, and people beating clowns, which they immediately report in the admin channel to get the offenders banned. They have no powers besides talking in the admin channel and freely leaving and returning to their body during the round in between spying.
Temporary ranks:
-Temporary Admins have slightly more power than a Moderator (and can issue bans) but retain their ability only for the duration of the round in which they were promoted, usually when the only admin present has to leave and doesn't want to leave the server unattended.
-Trial Admins are currently undergoing a trial period for either Game Admin or Game Master, and have powers intermediate between a Temporary Admin and a Game Admin.
