Several of us admins have been planning on playing some MW4 together at some point. Since we seem to have resolved the technical difficulties that were preventing that previously, it's back on track and we'll probably be playing some time this week. If you are interested you should get it installed and pay attention to this thread for details on when we will be playing.

They recently made it available 100% free and that has caused something of a resurgence in popularity. The CD version is not compatible with the free release, however.

I know a lot of us have been having issues with multiplayer connectivity in MW4. A couple minutes ago I finally managed to solve my own problem. Here is a list of the things you will want to investigate if you're still having trouble.
Port Forwarding You will need to have the ports 27999 through 28800 (TCP) and 2302 through 2400 (TCP and UDP) forwarded to play. You will need to have them forwarded in your router settings if you are using one, and if your modem has multiple sockets you will very likely need to forward them there as well.
Firewalls Most firewalls have an option to set specific ports through which traffic is allowed. If you can figure that out you will need to allow access through the ports listed under Port Forwarding. Note that in addition to any firewall software on your computer there may be firewalls in your router and/or cable modem as well. If you can't or don't want to fiddle with your firewall's port settings you could also temporarily disable it.
Hamachi and other VLAN programs I read in one troubleshooting thread that Hamachi and most likely other VLAN programs can interfere with MW4 Mercs networking. You will need to exit these programs, and probably you will have to abort their respective processes in the task-manager.

why am i like the only person on the board of trustees does this mean i can call a special meeting and overrule myself A special meeting can only be called by a unanimous vote while out of session. You also need a unanimous vote to impeach a trustee's authority. Since you are the only trustee, every vote you make is unanimous unless you choose to dispute yourself. So yes to both your questions.

It'd be nice if the actual MTX client was working for me. Guess I'll have to just use my retail copy to play on my own, as always, so lonely.

I heard it's available on Usenet. I don't know anything about Usenet although I heard you do need to have a Usenet provider to, uh, use it.
