Say we all donate a small amount of money, we could host the server on a cheap 24/7 host and it could sort out some issues we currently have. It may also attract more players as many people pick gibbed soley due to the fact it doesn't lag that much.

We could even add donater rewards, like you donate $5 and you get one free choice of a round with you as whatever you want.
Or $10 to have your own event
$2 for one or more spawned item(s) of your choice.

Mmm, I know most of the coders are going to cringe/hate this idea and that the current /tg/ station is trying to move away from it, but if you Donate you could get a misc. non useful item named after you, or some kind of in-game lore object.
Example: Statue to your liking with "Pennywise the Clown, Saviour of Research station Omega 13"
Or "Caiden Wasilewski's swimming goggles". Etc.
The major problem I see with this is that everyone would have to donate X monthly so it does not fall onto one person.

Let me ask a question. How much bandwidth does the SS13 server use in a month?

Gibbed hardly lags because of the atmospheric system they use. Pay to win is a god awful idea.

Apparently, the memory requirements are low, CPU usage is low-moderate (Obviously dependent on how many cores/what our programming of the server looks like at the time) and bandwidth is minimal/dependent on how many connections.

As a Player whom use to play seevral minecraft servers and such i know the inportance of donations, At one point; there was a donation raffle to which I held on one of minecrafts biggest RP servers. Each motnh I would pay 20 pound for a ackage for one lucky player whom signed thereself up. I would gladly resume paying donations to keep this station alive and kicking,
But I say, we require if so; a little benafits to doing so. Such as the LLA have persius enforcers for special players, Goon has centcom officials, so on so forth, Maybe unlock a new area of the ship, or maybe a new ship in itself? not a big one, but like; your own private ship, such as the administration Ship, if the Facepunch server has it.
Sure it would take alot of coding but hey, there was a time where we didnt have these fancy gismo's and in my day, we had to build our own station without space suits, we just held oru breath and built them from scratch in space!
