BYOND username: Ingeloakastimizilian
Banned by: sgtfragg
Ban type: Temporary, 1 week
Ban reason: IC in OOC
Why I feel I should be unbanned: I was dead for quite a while. Somebody started a restart vote, and someone else asked why. Somebody said "Because it's boring", and I added "And I've been dead for god knows how long. This is taking forever." Maybe it's because I'm relatively new here, but I don't understand how saying "I am dead" without including an IC name is harmful, or worth a one week ban. It doesn't seem to reveal any important IC info. A lot of people were dead. It seems like a needlessly harsh punishment for a harmless comment.

If you don't like it or you're bored, then leave. Don't whinge in OOC about it, Like the reason said we have Zero Tolerance.

I didn't whinge. I was explaining, to the person who asked, why somebody called a restart vote, because the person who called the vote more than likely had the same reason. I don't recall constantly complaining about being dead or being bored. I only said that once.
Zero tolerance is understandable, but I doubt that all situations like this receive such a harsh punishment. It would make sense to slap me on the wrist for a harmless, non-intentional IC in OOC comment, not a week long ban. Zero tolerance is understandable, but that doesn't mean that every punishment has to be incredibly harsh. The circumstances of the situation apply, such as severity and intent.
I'm trying to be calm, despite my irritation, and you telling me that I'm "whining" isn't helping.

Saying "I'm dead" can be considered IC in OOC because 1) it tells players that there is a dead body on the station somewhere which may lead them to hunt for it, and 2) if anyone knows any character names you frequently use, they may be able to figure out who your character is.
The zero tolerance rule is a server policy and bans issued under it cannot be appealed on the grounds that the policy is unfair. If you have a problem with the policy itself, please talk to Foos.
