My slippery stun hands couldn't grab someone to space them, the time it takes to grab the gloves and take them off can be a life or death moment. Let stun gloves only work in harm or disarm intent or have them toggle-able. Someone said they used to be like this.

They're already terrible, people relying on them and not being able to choke people quickly enough is a good thing and one of the drawbacks to becoming dependent on those terrible things.

Make another thread for the bug fix. Or just go to Scooter and ask him to fix it. Although about the stun gloves, they're fine just as they are. Next time just get better weaponry somehow.

They're a shitty item that should (and likely will) stay as it is. If it's on, you're going to be fucking anything you touch up.

I think it makes sense for them to zap anything you touch with them on anyway. You put them on, you go to grab someone - WELL SHIT, YOU STILL HAD THEM ON, AND WITH EXPOSED WIRE AND EVERYTHING. JESUS FUCK, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?

That would require another item if it were ever put in, were it ever coded in.

Its not that I don't want it to stun them, I just want to be able to grab them or disarm them or punch them at the same time. Unless the stun gloves are made out of starch there is no excuse for your fingers to magically not work when interacting with people once you put them on. A toggle is a bad idea sure, but having a stun/grab or stun/disarm (redundant sure) or stun/punch with help intent being just the stun couldn't hurt and would make sense.. kinda.

Maybe it's OCD, but I feel stun gloves should only work with insulated gloves else you and your victim should both get stunned. Only insulated gloves protect you from getting shocked by touching electrified wires, so how does strapping a battery onto wires and wrapping that shit around your non-insulated gloves not shock you. Besides, it would certainly cut down on the number of stun gloves around the station and make it harder for anyone to get them. If they wanted a pair of insulated gloves they would either have to steal them from somewhere (ie. engineering), take them from someone who has a pair (ie. engineers), get the one pair out of a tool vendor, or order them from supply. I suppose it'd also make sense to have a less effective pair made out of budget insulated gloves, probably with the same chances budget insulated gloves have of failing in comparison to insulated gloves.
I've used them and had them used on me countless times, and still feel that they're a simple to get, very effective means of taking down a single target almost on par with the effectiveness of a changeling sting. I like traitors and crew members to use creative means of taking down foes. The less wieldy and more thought put into the set up, the better. Stun gloves are basically a hidden stun baton that anyone can get. Only real problem I could foresee would be that there would always be some traitor every shift going engineer or breaking into places just to get insulated gloves specifically for making stun gloves, which could get routinely annoying.
