Ban Reason: (I do not have the reason copied so this is the gist of it) I was banned after returning from the prison station after permabrigging a confessed murderer. Upon return I saw blood fleas in security and a dead miner. After dispatching the fleas I grabbed the dead miner and proceeded to sickbay to clone. Before I could make it to sickbay one of my officers, backed up by the CE explained to me the miner had confessed to killing 2 engineers. So I said thank you for the information over the security channel. and proceeded to cremate the body, in the hopes a murderer who confessed to killing someone wouldn't accidentally be cloned. After cremated I continued about my day. about 5 mins after the incident. Nibelinski began questioning me on my motives for cremating the miner. I explain the story as stated above. I was then jobbaned from HoS because I didn't question the CE or my officer, did not do a full investigation into what the miner had done. And above all. Niblinski was tired of security being arrogant and feeling it not necessary to dig deeper into investigations. So all in all. I was banned to be made an example of. An example that no one knows about except Niblinski and the CE and other officer of the shift. So when you look at it for the reasons I was banned according to Niblinski. It's some what pointless.

Your Appeal: I am sorry for cremating an innocent miner. However. I have replayed the scenario in my mind many times. The more I think about it the more I agree that no further investigation would have been necessary. Why? Because a head of staff. The CE and a security officer told me as I was en route to clone the miner, That this miner had confessed to killing 2 engineers. I was banned because I didn't look into the investigation as much as i should have. the way I see it I looked into it enough and made the right call. What reason did I have to believe my officer or the CE would lie to me? There was zero reason. Two people of trust told me This individual was a confirmed criminal guilty of two capital crimes.

The following is not mean't to offend Niblinski or make Niblinski look bad however I feel it is necessary to bring up. Before the round started Niblinski explained to everyone over OOC (I don't have the exact quote it went something like this) I am in a depressed state and will be easily aggravated. please not I am paraphrasing this statement. the reason I bring this up is that in the pms between each other, I felt the information I was providing Niblinski was being ignored. it appeared to me Niblinski had already made up their mind and was taking enforcement action against me no matter what i told. This is supported by the fact in no PMs did Niblinski acknowledge my explanation and reasoning for cremating the miner. The way Niblinski sees it. I saw a ded guy.... I checked if ded guy was ded.... I cremated ded guy... Again this is not mean't too make Niblinski look bad. What I am saying is Niblinski was defiantly emotionally compromised before the round started. And if sad people are aggravated as you know, they lose sight of reality. This was supported via the PMs when Niblinski refused to see my logic behind cremating the miner. I was also criticized by niblinski for not implanting the miner. I don't see how an implant would expose a traitor but it I believe it was part of niblinski's reasoning to jobban me.

In conclusion. I was jobbaned to made an example that shitcurity can't get away with being shitcurity. I think I am very good at being HoS. This wasn't some rage shitcurity operation this was vaporizing a body in the hopes it would not be cloned and potentially kill another member of the crew. Of course not all good acts turn out to be good acts and it is a shame it resulted in collateral damage . However I stand by my decision of placing my trust in the CE and the other officer. From my prospective once again, 2 people in positions of trust told me "The miner confessed to killing 2 engineers NOT in self defence but in cold blood" I made sure the offence was not self defence and the CE and other officer confirmed it was in cold blood.

Here's the exact reason for your HoS Jobban.

Banned from Head of Security - Let a woman get eaten by a bloodflea in the brig, then proceeded to cremate the body because, "I thought she murdered people" when infact the woman had simply tried to stop people from robbing her blind. Play as a regular sec officer before going for any higher ranks. ~nbielinski

I'm missing information on this right now so I'm not too sure, but believing a CE and an Officer is reasonable enough to deal with her, cremating though is over-the-top and not investigating even if just a small bit is also crappy.

I'll double-check the log later and try and see if I can get more information out of it to see if your defense is valid.

Sure thing and in regards to letting her be eaten by blood fleas, as I said before I noticed the fleas around her body and proceeded to kill them, she was dead before I came back from the prison station. My actions too attempt to clone her were genuine but after the CE and other officer explained the story that's when I cremated her. About cremating being over the top. It's something I have done to confirmed traitors before but you can guarantee I won't be doing it again.

EDIT: Please check the further PMs between me and Niblinski there was a long response from him after the initial jobban explaining the reasons I stated I was given in my initial appeal. As well as the IC conversation in the brig with me the CE and the officer.

I'm not going to say that what you did was ethical in any way, investigation besides hearsay is required always. But you seem to dearly want this position back. I'll compromise, I'll cut the jobban off on 10/12, and in return I request you play as the Warden or a SO for a bit.

Much appreciated, if it's okay with you I'd prefer to play as Detective. And consider this lesson learned no matter the circumstances I double check on further incidents before doing something extreme like spacing or cremating people.
