How about a counter example. You're in your house and a knife wielding madman breaks in and drags your screaming pet outside and prepares to butcher it. Do you, A: hide inside your house and hope the cops show up in time to save it? Or B: grab your gun run outside and shoot the fucker. If you answered A you're a coward and do not deserve to own a pet. I don't know about you Nibbles, but I would violently protect my pets from being killed. I really hope you don't own a dog.
