Your Appeal: Well, where to start. Firstly, I believe simply of all the things I see people get away with on this server and do it multiple times is abnormally high, so I shouldn't even be in the position to be posting this, but that's besides the point. So, I want to get a weapons crate to bring in some much needed backup. I get permission from HoS and go successfully get the crate after much hassle because the QM was being difficult. I grab the crate and thought that I'd go give it to the warden to put up in the armory. Thinking that if I showed trust and respect by not taking a weapon that wasn't issued to me. I'm beginning to regret that decision, as I wouldn't be in the place I am in right now had I just stolen one. Anyways, the warden takes the crate and informs me that I would not be given a laser rifle. I would expect that he showed trust and respect to me by allowing me to have a weapon. I don't see how that's a problem, considering I was playing detective and they have a lethal gun already, but, anyways, he didn't allow me to have it. In a fit of rage, I violently shoot the warden in the chest six times, hurriedly use my speed loader and unloaded six more into his center of mass. I went around the counter into his office, which was conveniently left open, and handcuffed him. He wasn't entirely dead, so I decided to go beat him with a stun stick until all that was left was a messy pulp. I then thought of ways to dispose of the body. I couldn't use the garbage shoot, since someone might see that. I couldn't just go hide is body. Someone spotted me. Shit. I need to go, now. I take off and someone spots me. At this point, I'm sucked out of a broken window (so did the warden's dead body). Shortly after, I get the dreaded admin message. I profess my sins, but the admin, apparently saw my clean track record and confession fit for a TWO week ban. I feel I was fit for punishment, but two weeks is ridiculous. He said that he would have permanently banned me, but, apparently, I felt genuinely apologetic (which I am) and "let me off" with this. I'm here simply to shorten my sentence, as I'll be without my favorite server for two weeks. Have you ever done something in a surge of adrenaline and then immediately regretted it? That's what this was. It wasn't a plan thing to shit on the server and I didn't intentionally try to jeopardize the integrity of the server. That was absolutely not my intentions. If anything, I was actually roleplaying. I'd imagine if something similar happened in real life, it could escalate to that. Especially with the demeanor the warden was showing. Everyone was complaining about him that game, and I felt that punishment was fitting. The warden could have gotten into cover easily, but I feel that his sadist attitude got him into the position he was in. He wanted someone to get banned.

tl;dr: Situation was far more complicated than a two minute investigation could have ever thoroughly investigated. I feel I was unjustly punished due to the circumstances and my sentence should be reduced. I may have left details out, and this editing interface is horrid, so it may be a wall of text. Sorry about that.

I mostly banned you because I had a couple others I was investigating, and because there were no other admins on. Was waiting for this appeal actually, as I was planning on reducing it regardless. Just a protip, Centcomm approval is required for executions and whatnot, and the two weeks was mostly for the comment you made about the server prior. I'll agree that while it may not have been the most thorough investigation, it was just a temporary fix. I'll lower it down to a week or less. Good on ya', mate.

So as the Warden who got murdered by you and the HoP while the HoS sat there and watched, I'll think I'll input my side of the story here since your story has a decent bit of lies and bullshit in it in an attempt to get unbanned and make the Warden (me) look terrible.

So, I'll start this from the start of my problems with you, I had heard word of a crime involving a Technician, a QM and a Mime upon arriving. I detained both the Mime and the QM, searching both of them. Turning out to be equally guilty, I ended up confiscating a pair of insulated gloves from the Mime, asking the QM to come to SEC to retrieve it only for him to refuse and the Detective picking the role of playing the dog who would fetch.

Gavin runs up to me and demands me to hand him the gloves, I actually quickly go AFK so I don't respond to most of what he says but then as I come back I see this.

Detective Gavin Lord says, "This is station politics. A small crime means nothing in the scheme of things."

Already I dislike you and you can't be that good of an Officer (in my view at least) if you're willing to turn a blind eye if it means you get something good from doing such. You arrive with a Weapons Crate and try to feed me bullshit about them being stun guns and that none are lethal. I take the Weapons Crate and put it in the armoury. Now the problem here is the HoS never says anything about the crate or authorises it in any type of way to me. You say you could of stolen them and that out of trust I should give it to you, I refuse again and you pull out your gun near my Office before holstering it.

Detective Gavin Lord asks, "I busted my ass to get taht and you won't even let me have one to defend myself?"

Nearly everything I heard from you demanding those guns was so you could pacify people in death which I argued is not something Security should do and we should instead be detaining people non-lethally with things such as tasers. I go to my Office Chair to respond back to a message in the Sec Channel only for you unload your gun on me, quickly reloading and putting me near crit. The HoS and HoP run into my Office at this point and then you handcuff me, while the HoP beats me twice with his Egun, putting me into crit.

So then to counter some final bits of your appeal, I'll add in this:

While I was dead, I ghosted and observed you denying that you murdered me among other things before you die and have a short word with me in deadchat.

So the following is bullshit.

The only people I saw complaining about me was the QM Eric and you, you're either generalising the station's viewpoint to fit yours or you're quite blind and only listening to those who agree with you.

Okay, since you're obviously not an admin and don't know the full story, I'll fill you in.

1) I did not demand the glove; it may have seemed that way to you, but I was more asking you to hand me them over so we could get more guns in the armory. I truly didn't know you were AFK, but I was wondering why you weren't responding, so thanks for clearing that up.

2) When I said that this is station politics and that sometimes small crimes didn't matter, I was referring to the break in at cargo, not taking evidence out. I meant that to gain an advantage, we should just forget that ever happened and, to further the security department's standing, to let it go. That's all I was suggesting.

3) I genuinely thought that the laser guns had a stun mode. I later found out that, in fact, they don't have stun modes, and that is another type of weapon. That was my mistake, and I actually did think that. I wasn't trying to feed you bullshit, I promise.

4) I did not want to "pacify people in death". I don't know if you know, but detective actually spawns with a very lethal weapon. I completely agree with you on the philosophy that we should incapacitate criminals rather than kill them, but the fact of the matter is that sometimes it boils down to life or death and you have to bring out the big guns. I felt like since I was responsible and returned all the guns when I could have easily done something else with them, that you would trust me enough with just one of them. I know I would have. I suppose some people believe so blindly in the chain of command that you won't take logic into your decision making.

5) You wouldn't know this, and I don't blame you for it since I would assume the same, but I've already admitted to the admin that I was talking out of my ass when I said that. Simple as that. It was a mistake and I claim it. This actually is one of my favorite servers. If it wasn't, why would I be here defending my point so defensively? I could be just playing on another server.

So, yeh, I hope that sums it up quite nicely. I would hope that this doesn't leave a permanent scar on my reputation in the community, and that all of my "bullshit and lies" have been cleared up. I've made mistakes, which I've owned up to, unlike other people on this game. I've gone this long without making one, so I'd say that's a pretty good track record. I gladly accept my new, more fair, temporary ban, and I hope to see you on the server in a week!

The Detective's gun is lethal, the ammo it has isn't so much.

Once again, I'll repeat that you hadn't made the best impression on me and I honestly thought you were a giant shitlord, even in lethal situations, most of them can be solved by stunning the prep. Also the shitlord impression proved to be pretty true.

It's not even about the Chain of Command here, it's about a Detective asking for a laser gun, after appearing like a crook.

I've looked over the logs and whatnot, and it seems like you didn't really attempt to even reason with the warden past your initial points. You went to long lengths to secure the weapons crate, yes, but after that you murdered the warden because he WOULDN'T GIVE YOU A LASER. Granted, I do believe I went overboard with the two weeks, but as mentioned before I was busy with a few other cases. I'm still going to lower it to a week, simply because you did attempt the appeal, and if you fuck up like you did this time, you're getting a jobban from security, if not more.

After completely reading through it, you really jumped the gun on this one in claiming he was rogue, since he's basically second in command when it comes to brig affairs. As to my knowledge, and I may have missed this, you didn't even get permission from anyone to order the damned crate.

Tl;dr Week ban stays, thin-ice for jobban on sec.
