Ban 'reason': You have been banned by luibei25.
Reason: Took over as captain, as the CMO, and was the only security force on the station. Hunted down a mime, for no reason other than 'the mime is rogue, help.'. Caught him once, but the mime escaped. Caught him again, after lasering the mime, to near death, and flash banging him. Afterwards, he was stripping the mime, and took his handcuffs off in the process. The mime used this to disarm him, and take his baton. Only stunning him with it. The guy comes back and stuns, then lasers, the mime, but runs out of ammo. So he turns to beating the mime to death with a wrench. Claiming 'It was the only option left', even though he had stunned the mime and could easily put him back in the cell that was only a tile away. He did all of this on a hunch of the mime being a traitor..
Ban appeal: At the start of the round, I had taken the position of functional captain as I had been the highest on the COC. During my tenure in that role as the only security force on the station, the mime had been accused of being a traitor on the grounds that he had stolen the ID from a geneticist. As a result, I had taken it upon myself to detain the mime as he was a suspected antag, setting him to arrest and. While hunting down the mime, I had attempted to detain him using flashbangs and stuns, but he had managed to escape. As no further contact had been made between me and him (PDA, paper, crayon, disturbed tiles on the floor, you name it), I had even further reason to suspect that he was a traitor. During our final encounter, I had successfully stunned the mime and had cuffed and led him to the brig. While in the brig performing a normal search, I had accidentally removed the handcuffs binding the mime, who then pushed me, picked up the stun baton I was yielding in my off hand, then proceeded to remove every article of clothing I was wearing. I panicked as I was wearing little to nothing in the event the mime was an antagonist, and had barely recovered as I ran out of the brig along towards the south and through the armory (as the mime had failed to remove the spare captain's ID during this duration.) I re-equipped myself to find him breaking further into the brig, so I stunned him with a shot from my energy gun then set it to kill in my panic as he could have killed me during the period I was down in the event of chain-stunning. I opened fire, hitting him once with a laser to the chest, upon which my gun ran out of ammunition. I resorted to a wrench that I had in my possession as a last-ditch endeavor to stop the person who could have killed me, seeing as adrenaline was working really well on me at the moment, and ended his life which was the instance when luibei PM'd me and we had our little chat, resulting in a 2-day ban for the simple killing of a person who was suspected to be an antagonist and performed actions that had led me to believe that they were indeed filling that role.
Herein lies my formal admin complaint against luibei25. This administrator fails to take into account other people's perspectives as they play this game, relying solely on coincidental data (for example, is the gun on kill or stun?) instead of actually observing the flow of the round, taking the events of the round (or lack thereof in this case) into account when issuing bans. Another failure of this person to provide a positive, secure gaming environment lies in another instance where I had received a (perceptibly) undeserved ban of much greater magnitude than expected for simply me not doing what he said to when I was physically incapable of following his instructions due to another player's actions. Based on my experiences of contact with this administrator, both of which have resulted in an extensive ban for an extremely inconsequential and reparable event, I believe that this admin should be demoted on the grounds of issuing excessive bans, blatant refusal to empathize, observe from the perspective of, and cooperate with players when they issue PM's (the sole benefit of communication with this administrator is a slightly reduced ban time), and for failure to look further into the game and its events and use analytical skills to determine how and why a player could have acted in the fashion that they did.
