I started trying to come up with a new name for an AI, as my previous ones became a bit too well known. These are a few (not all) I have at the moment, as well as their intended use, and name decryption:
A.N.G.E.L. Autonomous Networked Genetically Engineered Lifeform (AI)
C.E.T.O. Compact Emergency Telecommunications Organizer (pAI)
D.Or.A. (Dora) Door Override Accessory (pAI)
G.A.I.A. Genetic Artificial Intelligence Administration (AI)
GUARDIAN General Utility Automated Routing and Dynamic Intelligence Artificial Network (AI)
T.I.T.A.N. Tactical Intelligence and Telecommunication Administration Network (AI)
In the end, I'm left with one question: Which one do I like the most.
I've been so indecisive, that I've actually started to come up with back stories for some of them, based on their interaction with the crew during my time experimenting with the feel of the name.
Any suggestions?
Edit: I should also note that if left alone, I might just use them all, and come up with an extensive manual for operation, including programming language for heads of staff to use to give orders/law changes/general attitude on the fly. I would, of course, put it in the library, but most captains cant seem to read, in my experience...
