A new game mode where you are part of a crew sent to investigate a station that Centcomm had lost contact with. When you're sent in, you realize that the station has been overrun with zombies, aliens, and crazy crew members.
Primary Objectives: Investigate the loss of communication, get back to Centcomm alive
Secondary Objectives: Rescue any survivors, bring back anything that may be useful
Secret objectives: Find all hidden syndicate items, rescue the Lone Survivor, bring back the station loot
Inspired by a round where Heath and Duel set up the Derelict so that there were aliens and hidden loot

I like the idea of this, also it should have admin made psychopaths patrolling the dark abandoned rooms......like dead rising.....crazy chainsaw clown......

The admins tend to be pretty robust. I could certainly see one of them with the element of surprise, chainsaws, and banana peels taking down the whole crew.
Then again I could see someone doing that the first time they played the game if the god of lag looked favorable upon them.

I'm going to go ahead and point out that half that stuff isn't in the TG code and that it also isn't feasible.
The thing that makes the derelict interesting is the unknown. Its actually not that hard to get to, and I find people who go there often quickly tire of it
This is why Centcom rounds never work either. Cool place, nothing to really do.
Finally, we don't even code gamemodes here, this is better referred to TG.

I still like the idea. You could have randomized mob and item positioning without too much trouble.

Why cant we code game-modes? Is our version a client only?

Here's an idea for a game mode = It's a variant on extended.
Play begins - People set to their jobs. Centcom reports that due to financial issues, they have sold the station, and that all personnel are to leave the station before Maruader Repo-men reclaim it.
However, Centcom does have a 'nearby' property. All personnel are to migrate to the derelict station, and rebuild it, reclaim it for Centcom use.
The time limit should be fairly high before trouble arrives, so that people have time to gather belongings / loot the station. The QM should have a high supply points to get the materials for fixing the derelict. Perhaps a Microshuttle could be deployed to carry the un-space-savvy to the place near the end of the timer (But the engineers should have made it livable by then with floors, walls, and Air). Or the RD could set up a teleporter link. . . (I love having unranked crew in the tele-room!)
Botanists will feed the crew, Doctors will likely have a lot of space-exposure to cure, cargo needs lots of material moved, Miners still chucking ore around. Seems busy.
TL:DR --> Event is a forced Migration to Derelict with implied repairs to full functionality.

Issue. As far as I am aware there are still certain machines that can not be made. Thus limiting the new station to almost fixed instead of fully fixed. It could be fun. But it would be funner if you could really complete it.

The point of that station could be a staging point to re-take the original station. Survive and stock up until a timer expires and the task force leaves.

See you would have to either have a long complicated way of pumping air from atmos or alot of internals. Though that could lead to o2 tanks being traded which could be cool. 1 tank for a first aid kit or metal.

The problem raikyh is maintaining it without upsetting a balance. Easy fix is that an O2 tank (Large blue non-movable) is hooked into a small atmos system that must be fixed (simple wrench fix).

Yep, the internals are needed though to actually explore all of the station.

The derelict wouldnt have to be the same size as the current... maybe 1/3rd the size?
