A short guide to some of the ways of the in-game world. Some aspects of this will differ between /tg/station servers, so if you're unsure about anything related to this server particularly that isn't covered below, ask an admin about it here on the forums or in-game.
Nanotrasen Corporate Marines
These are the guys who make up Death Squads. Widely touted as total badasses, more often than not they are bumbling stooges who will kill their squad mates with friendly fire and then space themselves thinking that their SWAT armor is a spacesuit. That said, some of them ARE badasses, veterans of years of intercorporate warfare against the Syndicate, so don't take them lightly.
The Syndicate
Also sometimes known as the Syndicated Polities. The Syndicate is Nanotrasen's primary rival supercorporation, controlling a roughly equivalent volume of space and resources. The Syndicate has fewer employees, but trains them to a higher standard and generally equips them better. Official Nanotrasen policy is to disarm and detain all Syndicate personnel indefinitely on sight.
Endgame: When the Shuttle Leaves
-After the evacuation shuttle leaves, everyone who was on board gets reassigned to another Nanotrasen facility. Salvage crews from Centcomm recover any valuable equipment (including cyborgs and intact AI cores, which will be recycled in new stations) before melting down the entire station for scrap with giant orbital lasers.
-If you were left behind when the shuttle left, you will probably be picked up later, so it's OK to use that character in a subsequent round.
-If you were dead when the shuttle left, your corpse will probably be recovered and cloned at Centcomm, so it's OK to use that character in a subsequent round.
AIs and Cyborgs
-You are literally incapable of disobeying your laws. This means that any breach of your laws will be considered breaking character and, depending on the severity of the breach, punished as griefing.
-That said, most laws are somewhat open to interpretation. If you can make a plausible argument supporting an interpretation of one of your laws which accounts for your actions, you will probably not be punished, depending on how the admins are feeling that day.
-AIs and cyborgs are hard-wired to follow their laws with extreme devotion. This means that sometimes even coming close to breaking one of your laws can trigger the equivalent of a nervous breakdown or panic attack, making for interesting RP situations. Note that a nervous breakdown or panic attack does not allow you to disregard any of your laws.
