24 hour ban (luibei25)

Reason: Openly admitted to griefing someone by crushing him in a mech..

I realize that this is an incredibly short ban to be appealing for, but the reasons behind it are utter shit. I encountered a person attempting to space the bodies of a doctor and the Head of Personnel in a coffin. When confronted about this, he tried to rush the bodies into space, so I cornered and crushed him to death with a Ripley. I dragged this persons body out to arrivals and couldn't figure out what to do with it.

At this point, a security officer arrives on station, and I tell him about the body and the reason its there. He attempts to flash me (While I am still in the Ripley) repeatedly. I warn him and he continues hitting my Ripley with the flash, so I crush him once with the hydraulic grip and tell him to back off, which he of course does.

After this, I started drilling in to medical bay, which, for some reason, was locked down by fire doors, so that I may clone the bodies that were being spaced, but while dragging the bodies in to medical, I freeze up and suffocate, due to an atmospheric technician messing with the settings (He was banned early on in the round, I forgot about the fact that medbay was screwed, though)

While in deadchat, the security officer I crushed earlier accused me of killing him via crushing which led to suffocation. I admit that while I did crush him, the suffocation (And death) was caused by something else (The messed up atmospheric settings, he said he froze up making movement difficult). Shortly after this, I was banned for the reasons stated above.

Considering the fact that being crushed by a mech is an effect that lasts as long as the thing you're crushing stays in front of you, it's dealing constant oxyloss damage. Also, what's a flash going to do to a ripley, besides nothing at all?

Almost immediately after I started crushing him, he backed off, meaning I was no longer crushing him. The reason he died, from what he said in deadchat, was from him running away into an area where he started suffocating and since he also started freezing, he was unable to leave in time, which is exactly how I died that round, but in a different area.

I had to do something to get him to stop attempting to flash me, as there was a high chance he would just follow me around until he got a chance to attack. He ignored the verbal warning, so I decided the best course of action would be to scare him off.

From looking at other ban appeals, one of the primary definitions of 'griefing' is killing another player. I just don't see why I was banned when I did not actually kill him
