Yup, again. I'm writing this as the round he's the captain is going. I assume he's Johnny Pessimine, so that's why I'm appealing Portal. Anyways, on to the rules he broke:

1. Metagaming(set up the engine while not being an engineer, also made repairs to it);
2. IC in OOC(told he's going to clone John Dillinger);
3. Griefing(killed a scientist for blowing up the bar).

The scientist you see is Elliot Ellis, by the way(it should be obvious, duh).

Also there are lines of IC in OOC and OOC in IC by John Dillinger(Sirshootalot), but that's another story.

Metagaming is not doing someones job for them. It is "any crossover between out-of-character and in-character events or information." Doing someone elses job for them isnt much of a problem, more so if its the captain trying to fix the engine. Therefore, it cant be a reason for a ban.

Normally, I would set aside the fact that he said he was going to clone him. But reading the log you posted, it seemed like he wasnt really going for the "GET BACK IN YOUR BODY" approach, but more of a "Yeah, dude, just die. Ill clone you" approach. The difference being one is more subtle, while the other is not. Niether are good for OOC. I believe this is also part of multiple complaints about his metagaming, but someone correct me if I am wrong.

As for his griefing, I totally agree that it is, in fact, griefing. According to the log you posted, the "bombers" charges were Compromising Station Intergrity. As long as noone was killed, the offence was briggable at five minutes. One death would result in an overtime sentence, followed by a possible probation. Two would be a prison station punishment. Again, someone correct me if I am wrong.

See as he never charged him with anything, nor did he put him on trial, I see this as a lasting accusition.

As it stands, I agree that Portal Pwned should be banned from the server.

I've banned him for 2 weeks. If he still doesn't learn from his mistakes this ban can increase up to a permanent one. Good thing that you reported this, as we can't be on the server 24/7.

Doing a job you're not qualified in is metagaming if you're speaking of strict RP. A chef would not know how to change DNA in a geneticist's lab either. Just because you as a person knows how to do it, doesn't mean your character does.

But, again, this is the captain we are talking about. Surely to get his position the captain would have had to dabble in a little bit of everything, wouldnt he? I mean, he IS running the whole station.

Yes, he knows how everything works. But. He studied in the [generic_military_academy_name_here], thus he doesn't know all the ins and outs in engine setup, R&D, bomb-making and practically all the other stuff not connected with security as he's an officer, receives commands from Centcom and commands the HoS by the military chain of command and the HoP by the chain of command(or acts as a substitute for either(or both)).

That might be considered metagaming occasionally, but I personally wouldn't ban for that so long as the person in question demonstrated intelligence comparable to that of a bowl of goldfish by coming up with a quasi-plausible in-character explanation for knowing someone else's job. IE, "UH SHIT UH my dad was a [job here] and he taught me how to do some of this stuff."
