Confused about my ban?

So Yesterday morning I played a few rounds on Facepunch as Captain. As far as I can remember, the only time I killed during those sessions were when I was a changeling Captain and ate eight people. I tried to get on this morning and got this message:

I honestly can't remember killing anyone outside of that one round and since I was banned while I was offline, the admin who banned me couldn't tell/ask me about it. I'd just like to know what exactly I was banned for.

I reckon you were banned on the next round. You killed, to be precise, John Crowley and Zack Pershing. Well, maybe not, but that's a lot of laser shots. And you also weren't an antag that round, apparently.

Now that you mention 'a lot of laser shots', I think you must have seen me fooling around with the practice laser gun or something? I recall shooting Zack Pershing repeatedly with the practice laser gun, then him shooting me with it a bunch as well. It does that same 'X gets hit in the X by the laser!' in chat but doesn't do any damage.

Don't remember hitting John Crowley with it though.

I'm pretty sure there are different projectile types for the laser gun and laser tag gun. And those were lasers, judging from the attack log. If you have your own logs that prove that those were lasertag beams, attach them to your first post. Until then, the ban will remain.

I'll try to see if there are different projectile types for laser tag guns though, I reckon there were a separate one.

EDIT: I just took a look at the code. There are indeed different projectiles types for laser and laser tag guns(though not for practice laser guns). I guess you meant the practice laser gun after all, so yeah, just provide logs that you were firing a practice laser gun and I'll lift the ban. I'll ask around meanwhile, particularly those 2 people. Can't be sure about the weapon right now.

Well, looks like your ban has expired. I'll remove your jobbans on some security and command jobs, and if you do well, I'll unban you from the rest of positions too. (though seriously, always log the round, searching in an .htm file is pretty easy)

Since the ban expired and you'll be on probation for unbanning from uh... security officer, warden, HoS and Captain for an indefinite time(not for too long, maybe a week, maybe several days), I'm locking this thread. See you on the server.
