My BYOND key is Serbian, IC name Dolan Kurac, and i just got randomly banned by Elowin for....being right.
I even have the logs (logging rounds became a habit for me, since i never know if something awesome worth saving will come alon), in fact here they are : bayfiles.com/file/aHUn/tacQC8/log_2012-05-25_%2810_37_am%29.htm

Here's how it all happened : i start the round as cap, get ready, read the CentCom security estimations, tell the crew (firstly security only, and then later on after i got the chaplain to the public) there is a 2/3 chance the chaplain is a cultist, 1/2 of a changeling, around 28% for a rev.

Okay, to cut things short, i go to the bar, see Dorf taking some beer, dont comment on it, then the chaplain comes in, and Dorf yells "Get Him!". Thats where i agree i made a mistake. I thought that message was meant for me, so i stunned both Dorf and the chaplain ;( .

I wake Dorf up, i realise where i fucked up, then we both strip the chaplain. We find a cultist book. As i escort/pull the stunned chaplain to the brig, she manages to wake up and draw a lethal revolver on me (a non-antag DOES NOT have one of those...), luckily i stun her in time, though i am now at red health.

Dorf catches up with me, i announce the whole thing to the crew, and then Elowin decides to make an announcment that i am a "Complete retard and that they will blow my implant". By this point, Dorf is dragging the corpse to a room in the Lounge, and then out of no where, i get gibbed.

Then, i get banned for a day and under the reason it states "if you wanna grief, at least don't be the captain."

I don't want to add any excess comments to this, and rather leave it up to the admins and the community. I seriously don't care about the ban, it's the fact that i got banned for almost nothing that's unerving to me.

Right, let's count the times you fucked up, first, the chaplain walks into the bar, your bro Swieft yells for you to get him, and you decide to indulge him and stun both the chaplain and him.

Then you decide that even though the chaplain has done absolutely nothing wrong, you will strip her of all her equipment and just leave it lying in the bar for anyone to steal, and without handcuffing her, you drag her to the brig.

She then attacks you, you manage to stun her again, and you decide to execute her right there on the spot, even though that you do not actually have the authority to call for an exectution.

Besides that, you gave a Captain ID to some random assistant because you "Knew him from space vietnam" also known as you know the player playing him.

And then ofcourse there's all the shit you have done in the past, for an example, i seem to recall a round not very long ago where you ran around, once again as the captain, trying to trick people into thinking that there was a virus spreading, and then injecting them with impedrezene, stating that it was the cure.

All in all, you're damn lucky i only banned you for a day, and if i see more shit from you it will be much longer than that.

I was the captain, had no cuffs, i KNEW the chaplain was an antag, i gave the assistant my ID because i knew you were gonna gib me, Dorf just helped me escort the chaplain to the brig, stashing her in a room was a joke. Then, the chaplain pulls a lethal revolver on me (presumably you gave it to her....), puts me in red health, though i stun her one more time and land a bullet from her revolver into her head. Assaulting the captain is a terminable offence, check the law.

Not having cuffs as a captain is entirely your own fault.
You most certainly did not know the chaplain was an antagonist before after you assaulted her.
You gave that assistant your ID long before any of this happened, and i would very much like to hear how you could possibly know i was going to gib you later for something completely unrelated.
And no, assaulting the captain is not a terminable offence, attempted murder should at best be met with life inprisonment or cyborgization, and even those should be after a trial.

In addition to this, i have now checked the logs more thoroughly and it appears that you stabbed her in the eyes with a fork, twice.


Also, that guy yelling "captain is melted" over the radio, that was so fucking funny.

I knew she was an antag because i READ the Centcom Security Report (the white paper thingy that comes out of the cap's announcment computer when the "SOMEPLACE SECURITY UPDATE" comes along), i didn't have cuffs because getting them meant hauling ass to the brig and then being stunned by some random guy "for theft", i knew you guys wanted to gib me because you already told people to execute me a few rounds ago and figured that you were maybe too lazy this time, i just stunned the chaplain because he pulled out a revolver on me, and i wanted to borg him after that, and yep, i did stab her in the eyes because i know it's easy to fix up, and i like to thank you guys for such dedication to this whole thing that you decided to thoroughly analyze each and every second of player interaction that round to find two fork stabs, so thanks. I know that sounds like sarcasm, but it's not. I seriously thank you for the dedication, even in this way.

Also, the "CAPITAIN ARMOR HAS MELTD1" guy WAS awesome, until another five people started saying the same thing .

The security report at the beginning of the round does not constitute proof of anything. Those estimates are generated by the game and their accuracy is determined randomly, meaning they can give you a high probability that the wrong person is a traitor/changeling/what have you. You get the same kind of report during extended rounds when there ARE no antagonists.

If someone is reported as having a high likelihood of being a hostile, you ARE allowed to bring them in for questioning, testing, or searching; that doesn't necessarily constitute grief.

Note that I am commenting only on your use of the security report, not on the ban itself or the reasoning behind it.

I told Security to bring him in, but got no response. Also, i know it's (the report) pretty random, but it can still be suprisingly accurate and (at least for me), with a bit of logical deduction, works at least 8/10 of the time.
