You thought they were gone
Aka, how to optimize your round experience
Welcome to Space Station 13. You have been chosen, or have just been killed. Yeah, we know. Dieing near the start of a round is like accidently running into the singularity containment fields. This guide is designed for you to optimize your round after death. You may have been taken out of the game, but you are still in it and are thus still valuable.
Ghosts and you
When you die you become a ghost and thus can only talk to ghosts. Ghost chat is a mixture of IC and OOC. You can discuss previous rounds, tactics, how you died, how the other person died, and other things you might find interesting. Also remember you have a almost full view of the games entire map, use that to your advantage. Lets see some examples:
By golly. It seems all you can do when your dead is watch what is happening. No, thats not all. You can also toggle if you want to be chosen as a pAI or of aliens are ever spawned, an alien.
Station logic
A common misconception is that when you die, your rounds over. No, your round has only just begun. That assistant that spaced you? Chances are you will get your revenge. Space station logic follows as so, revenge almost always happens no matter what. So that assistant is more likely to be robusted in a way you will be laughing at. Also remember that space station logic also follows as so, whenever there is a team, half the team will be ghosts within 10 minutes. Your killer will usually die in a rather funny way. Even if its in the very end.
Admin logic
So maybe the stations gone all to hell, more then normal. Sometimes admins will spawn certain events that give control to several ghosts. These come in forms such as Death Squad (Normal, Syndicate and Borg), Space Ninjas, and pets oh and occasionally aliens. Just don't start demanding they spawn a death squad or make aliums, Admins are people, not an AI. They do not need to listen to you at all when it comes to spawning stuff. Because you died, does not mean your obligated to spam ghost chat with "i canz b alium!?".
Plan B
Sometimes you will have one of those rounds were you just want to take a break. Its fine. Being a ghost isn't a commitment, and if you want you can easily come back later if the round isn't over.
Observing
My favorite mode. Why? Sometimes a round might be too far in to join or maybe you just had a long round. Observing allows you to chat with other observers and eventually other ghosts. Just remember, unless one of the above happened, theres no going back for that round so choose if you want to play or observe (or sit on the title screen).
