We are starting a project to write up our own, revised and expanded version of Space Law. If you have ideas for new laws or changes to existing laws, post them here. Keep in mind that just because you post an idea, does not mean we will necessarily use it. There is a separate thread in the administrator section where we will be discussing your ideas, but feel free to discuss them amongst yourselves here.

Here are a few laws that come to mind:
Do not kill brain dead people:
This means, seriously, if you see someone brain dead, don't kill them, move them out the way if you want, but don't space them, just leave brain dead people alone.
It's simple, see a brain dead character? Leave them alone, take them to medbay, etc, but don't kill them or leave them in a situation where if the actual person who plays that character comes back they're stuck somewhere, such as locking them in a locker or in a room without an ID.

A law against using mechs on the station that are weaponized on the station without a heads approval.
Vandalism towards the station such as breaking windows, crowbaring floor tiles, or simply using a screwdriver on a door. (DOES NOT INCLUDE GRAFFITI)
Stealing a Weapon (Should be it's own law)
Grand Theft: Stealing something of extreme value that isn't a weapon.
Petty theft: Stealing something of lesser value that isn't a weapon. (Shoes, wires, insulated gloves, circuits, etc)
Just some off the top of my head.

Monkeying of people with stupid names or who talk in acronyms is not only allowed but required.
In the case of people with stupid names demonkeyifcation is also a option. Otherwise the new monkey will be sent to Xenobio, Virology, or the Kitchen.
New AI law Zero. People with stupid names or who talk in acronyms are no longer human.

Higher sentences for those abusing positions of power.
Concealing a crime: Hiding bodies, lying to security, accusing others, etc.
Drunk and disorderly, spamming the airwaves with crap, insulting, threatening, generally causing a problem for somebody going about their duties. Could lump all of those into something like destabilizing station morale.
More clarifications on what a citizen can and can't do could be useful also. For example, when detaining somebody, and what they should do in the case of there being no security.
Warrants (A reason to have all those stamps around),
Bounties for crimes. If we had luxury items that could be given away as rewards that'd be something to do anyhow.
Other than that, I think having more totatilitarion rules would be fun for rp. Nothing that'd give an excuse for security to be horrible though.

How about a law that people have to do their jobs? (worst example: CE who just grabs the stuff in his office and runs off to the bar)
I am not sure how that should be punished though. Imprisoning them won't make them do their work... (because they would be in a brig cell, obviously)

That, and community service. Cleaning up the station, fixing all those broken lights, charging power-cells, carrying crates etc. The most extreme punishment could be a fixed amount of medical and scientific experimentation. That'd be classed as community service, right?

The thing with that I think would be the only way they would be more useful then monkeys is if they were test subjects in genetics. Which has the issue that you might give a disgruntled criminal super powers.

You can turn monkeys into humans.

Monkey humans can not tell you what you unlocked. Which is also the only thing human humans are good for.

...Admins like to enter the "Monkey-Humans" and be them and fuck with you. There is a reason why there is "LOCK"

Even more reasons to use criminals I guess.

Law 0
When a threat to the station arrives on the station, you may disregard law 1 to protect the stations inhabitants.
I wonder how that'd work out (terribly)
