One of the most common people i come across is the assistant. They mostly spend their time fighting sec and trying to hand out all access after they handcuff the Hop in a chair. Their job title points at that they are supposed to assist people, which i never see. What would I as a crew member (generally any roll like miner, doctor, or scientist) be able to ask or order an assistant to do?
Probably the only example ive ever seen is the Hop turning the assistants into a militia if their is no sec and the station is in danger of syndies.

Assistants have plenty of uses, let me list some. 1. Chemical Test Subject 2. Bomb Test Subject 3. Gas Test Subject 4. Gun Test Subject 5. Forcefeeding 6. Forcibly spacing 7. Entertainment Can't think of any others, but this just shows that they are useful!

Is there any use for them for in which they will survive? (other then number 5) The station only has so many assistants and I want to get my bang for my buck.

Assistants have an uncanny ability to sense any illegal materials and/or lethal weaponry.
You can leave insulated gloves, stun gloves, contraband posters, space suits, IDs, drills, mechs, stun guns, laser guns, energy guns, pistols, and shotguns, to name a few.

Slip them and weld them in a crate/locker.
Or use a masterbox. Gotta catch'em all!

Do i have to engage them in any form of pokemon combat to gain their loyalty? Just tell them they're getting access to stuff they didn't have before without the risk of being arrested and they'll be all over that.

Do i have to engage them in any form of pokemon combat to gain their loyalty? It's more like Digimon World, they won't listen to you at first and won't be much good at anything. After enough time of training them and working together though they'll do good enough to not kill themselves with the first space carp or xeno they see.

Am I the only one who has ever been useful as an assistant? Because I have once installed cameras everywhere in maint on the old map so that the AI could see basically everything and become the best NSA AI ever.
